Abstract

914,059. Potato planting machines. MASCHINENFABRIK CRAMER Inh. CRAMER & SOHNE. Jan. 10, 1961 [March 5, 1960], No. 1031/61. Class 6(1). A feed device for a potato-planting machine comprises a metal cone 5 and an outer ring 7 connected by radial partition walls 8 and rotatable above a fixed base plate 3 on which is mounted a concentric partition 10 which fits in slots 9. A cut-out portion 11 acts as a potato discharge opening which is adjacent to a planting tube inlet 2. A potato is deposited from each outer compartment as it registers with the inlet 2. As the outer compartment moves adjacent to the portion 11 a potato rolls from the inner compartment into the empty outer compartment. In a modification the inlet 2 is below the inner compartments and the fixed plate 3 is extended to form the partition 10.
