[Also in Group XIV] In a levelling-head, the inclination of an instrument carrying spindle A, about a fixed spherical bearing B, is varied by displacing spherical bearing C in a horizontal plane by rotation of eccentric bushes D, E. Arms H and J clamp the spherical bearings C and B.
