913,463. Valves. SIGMUND PUMPS Ltd. Feb. 1, 1960 [Dec. 24, 1958], No. 41719/58. Class 135. A mixing valve has a casing 1 with two pairs of oppositely disposed inlets and outlets 3, 4 and 5, 6, flow between which is controlled by a rotatable vane 7; the latter has two extreme positions, shown dotted, in which each inlet is connected to first one and then the other outlet. When the vane is in an intermediate position, both inlets are connected with both outlets to a greater or lesser extent. The vane is moved by a handle, between which and the body is disposed a friction washer, the handle also embodying a pointer movable over a scale to indicate the vane setting. As shown, the inlets 3, 4 are connected to the outflow of a central heating boiler, and a circulating pump, respectively, whilst the outlets 5, 6 are connected to the radiator, and boiler inflow, respectively.
