Abstract

A container for pasty and similar substances comprises a rigid casing 1. a flexible bag 14, the top edges of which is held down by a closure member 12, and a slidable member 9 for compressing the bag 14, the casing 1 being of double-walled construction with means, e.g. a bridge member 2, for spacing the walls. A base ring 5 has a flat portion 8 which acts as a seating for the member 9 and shoulders 6, 7 for seating the walls of the casing. The closure 12 has a slot 17 for dispensing paste and is screw threaded to receive a cap 16. The bag may be of aluminium foil, or a synthetic plastics such as " Melinex " (Registered Trade Mark) and the casing moulded from a synthetic plastics, the parts being secured together by an adhesive. In modifications, the casing may have separately moulded walls, Fig. 2 (not shown), having interfitting formations; the outer wall of the casing may be curved at its lower end to form a base for the inner wall, Fig. 3 (not shown), or the inner wall may similarly support the outer wall of the casing, while the closure member is integral with the outer wall, Fig. 4 (not shown); the bridge member may be integral with either the outer shell, Fig. 5 (not shown), or the inner shell and may comprise either an annular rib, or a series of abutments, or, as shown in Fig. 6, longitudinal ribs or fins 62 preferably integral with the inner wall of the casing. In a further embodiment the casing is formed by extrusion. Fig. 7 (not shown), and the slidable member has a curved upper face designed to mate with a concave lower face of the closure member.
