A vacuum casting-machine comprises a bail 11, 12, rotatably supported on the vertically movable bottom 6 of the vacuum tank 1 and having means 22 for securing together the ladle 21 and a chill mould 4, means for rotating the bail for pouring from the ladle into the chill, and a base-plate 5 on which a series of chills may be mounted and which is rotatable with respect to the tank bottom 6 and the bail 11, 12, so that each chill in turn may be presented to the ladle. The ladle is filled by means of a gutter 3 extending into a melting furnace, the charge being weighed by known devices 25. The bail is tilted for pouring by a device external to the tank and which is connected to the bail through a clutch.
