Abstract

911,269. Spray-producers. SKARDOL, K. A. Feb. 27, 1961 [March 1, 1960], No. 7052/61. Class 69 (3). The outlet holes 2 of a spray tube 1, supplied with liquid through an inlet 4, are cleared of clogging fibres &c., which are present in the liquid, by means of valves 9 and 10 at the liquid inlet and outlet ends of the tube, operated so that the opening 7 is closed and the opening 8 is opened substantially simultaneously whereby a suction is created in the tube which drains air through the holes. The valves are mounted on a rod 11 longitudinally displaceable by an handle 12 pivoted at 14; in the spraying position a cam member 13 engages abutments 34 to hold the valves in the positions shown. When the handle is swung from the position shown, the valves are moved by liquid pressure to close the opening 7 and open the opening 8 whereby the clogging fibres are entrained in the liquid and flow from an outlet 6. Alternatively, in order to produce the suction, the outlet 6 may be provided with a pump &c. Instead of interconnecting the valves mechanically they may be provided with separate actuating devices controlled in common by a valve or switch &c.
