Abstract

911,152. Photographic cameras. GAUTHIER G.m.b.H., ALFRED. March 21, 1960 [March 25, 1959], No. 9840/60. Class 98 (1). [Also in Group XL (b)] A photographic camera having a diaphragm which may be automatically regulated by an exposure regulator is characterized by the feature that two setting members are arranged for the purpose of setting the diaphragm aperture, one of the setting members being adapted to be set automatically by means of a driving device into a setting determined by the exposure regulator whilst the other setting member is manually actuated, and further by two parts, such as levers, adapted to be pivoted about a fixed axis and retained in abutment with abutments on one another by means of a spring, which parts are adapted to couple the two setting members with the adjusting device of the diaphragm, one pivotal part being adapted to co-operate with a control cam arranged on the automatic setting member and being swung into a position in dependence upon the shifting of a change-over device from the setting " automatic " into the setting " non-automatic," in which position the said same pivoted part cannot be influenced by the automatic setting member, whilst the other pivotal part is coupled with the adjusting device of the diaphragm and, when the change-over device is set to " non- automatic," is adapted to be influenced by a control cam of the manually actuated setting member. As shown, a spring-urged diaphragm blade adjusting ring 16 is coupled by way of a pin and slot connection 20, 10b to a lever 10, pivoted at 11. A second lever 9 is also pivoted at 11 and is urged by a spring 12 into engagement with a lug 10d on the lever 10. Lever 9 carries a pin 24 engageable with a cam surface 6a of an automatic setting ring 6 and lever 10 carries a pin 21 engageable in a control slot 7d in a manual setting ring 7. Automatic setting of the diaphragm (starting from the position of Fig. 3) is obtained by ring 6 which-after shutter release-for example runs down in the clockwise direction until stopped by the engagement of a scanning member coupled thereto with an abutment member of an exposure meter. Any suitable exposure regulator may however be utilized. The galvanometer housing may be rotatably mounted to take account, for example, of exposure time and film sensitivities. The camera is brought into position for manual setting of the diaphragm (cf. Fig. 4) by clockwise rotation of a manual setting and changeover ring 7, as a result of which pin 21 is guided by a cam 7f into a slot 7c leading to the control slot 7d and pin 24 engages in slot 7c where it is unaffected by the automatic setting ring 6.
