1,040,955. Exposure control for photographic cameras. EASTMAN KODAK CO. July 10, 1963 [July 19, 1962; Jan. 18, 1963], No. 27274/63. Heading G2A. A photographic camera, for example a cinematographic camera, comprises an automatic exposure control system; a manually operable film speed adjustment device and overdrive means coupled to the device to set for a slight over exposure or under exposure or normal exposure of the film, as desired. In the embodiment shown, with known automatic exposure control means (not shown) a baffle 23 is moved in front of the photocell 15 by means of a lever 27 and a manually rotatable disc 17, coupled to a member 41 with an index 19 which moves relative to a disc 21 carrying film speed readings. Disc 21 is fixed to an overdrive ring 49. During film speed setting, ring 49 is held stationary with pin 59 urged by spring 67 into hole 62 in a plate 64 on the camera housing, and projection 34 radially resiliently mounted on member 41 by means of slot 45 moves from one notch 47 in ring 49 to another. If the photographer wishes to over or under-expose the film slightly he then depresses ring 49 to free pin 59 and rotates it until pin 59 engages hole 63 or 61 respectively. During the movement member 41, disc 17 and baffle 23 are also moved.
