Abstract

910,837. Surgical appliances. VINCENT, S.A. June 22, 1960 [June 29, 1959], No. 22169/59. Class 81 (2). An appliance for the control of incontinence comprises a substantially rigid crotch portion 15 which carries an inflatable pad 22 by means of which pressure is applied to the perineum. The member 15 is supported by front and rear straps 19 from a body belt 13 or similar harness. The pad 22 is connected by a tube 23 to an inflating bulb and a pressure gauge may also be provided. In a modification the inflatable pad is replaced by a solid pad made from layers of sponge rubber or other suitable elastomer.
