Abstract

The immobilised upper limb support is for use with surgical splints, cradles etc. avoiding the use of a sling. A bracelet of cloth, leather etc. (2) and adjustable circumference is fixed inside or clamped outside the splint (I), ending in a ring (3) at the top. This is connected by an elastic device slightly stronger (4) than the weight of arm and splint to a neck piece (6) reinforced so as not to cut into the neck skin. The strength of the elastic device is such as to allow some give under shocks or when the patient moves.
