950,098. Splints. V. DAY. March 21, 1962 [March 27, 1961], No. 11112/61. Heading A5R. A leg splint comprises telescopic side members, a pivoted foot plate, a detachable thigh ring and a sling extending between the side members. The padded thigh ring 14 is fitted to tubular side members 10, 11 by means of spigot attachments 16 and the limbs of a U-shaped member 12 fit into the lower ends of these side members and are adjustable by nuts 23. A foot plate 26 is pivoted at 27<SP>1</SP> on the base of the U-shaped member 12 and stops 29 prevent the toe being tilted upwards. A cloth fabric sling 17 is attached, along its longitudinal edges to the side members and serves to support the leg. The thigh ring is preferably made in two semi-circular sections hinged together at 18 and secured by a screwed connection 22.
