Abstract

The invention comprises compounds of the formula HCO.NH.C6H4.SO2.NHR, wherein R is -C(:NH).NH2, -CO.NH2 or a substituted or unsubstituted heterocyclic residue e.g. a 2,6-dimethylpyrimidyl-(4), 2-thiazolyl or 6-methoxypyridazine-(3) residue, and their preparation by reacting a sulphanilamide H2N.C6H4.SO2.NHR with formic acid or with formamide in an acid medium. Pharmaceutical preparations comprise the above compounds in admixture or conjunction with a pharmaceutical carrier.
