910,294. Valves. REVILL, J. Nov. 4, 1960 [Nov. 6, 1959], No. 37997/60. Class 135. A float-operated valve comprises a tubular inlet 1, an outlet extension 3 and a flat seat 5 therebetween, a ball valve 8, loose or secured to stem 19, closing on the seating under inlet pressure and the vertical stem 19 opening the valve when actuated by float arm 9. The arm actuates a second actuating lever 15 through an adjusting screw 17, and the end of lever 15 contacting the stem may be a cam. The ball is kept in contact with the stem by cup 26 or by the casing being similarly shaped. A baffle 24 on stern guide 20 reduces noise, a baffle 21 on delivery tube 22 deflects water from tube opening 23 for lever 15 and deflector 25 on the stem prevents dirt entering between the guide and stem.
