Abstract

910,236. Fork lift trucks. HAUSER, R., BENGEL, F., SAUTER, A., and SAUTER, U., [trading as A. I. NACHFOLGER]. Oct. 15, 1959 [June 12, 1959], No. 34939/59. Class 78 (3). [Also in Group XXXII] A side loading fork lift truck, having spring suspended axles, is provided with selectively operable means for rendering inoperative the springing on the side of the truck remote from the loading side. As shown, the device comprises an hydraulic piston and cylinder unit 19, 20 pivoted to the axle 8 and the chassis 1, and connected to a reservoir 30 through a slide valve 27 which is coupled to the truck driving lever 26. The arrangement being such that the free flow of fluid through pipes 23, 28, 24, 28<SP>1</SP> is blocked only when the lever 26 is in neutral. According to a modification the piston and cylinder may be replaced by a mechanical device (not shown).
