Abstract

910,217. Transfusion apparatus. BAXTER LABORATORIES Inc. July 20, 1961 [July 22, 1960], No. 26266/61. Class 81 (2). A flexible container for parenteral fluid has means for receiving and holding a sample container. The container itself 10 may be made by heat-sealing around the edges of two sheets of thermoplastic material such as polyvinyl chloride and provided with inlet or outlet ports 15, 151 and a tube and needle set 16. The seal at the side edges forms a relatively wide web 11, 11<SP>1</SP> in each of which there are two spaced, aligned slits 17, 17<SP>1</SP> which may be opened out to receive a sample tube 18. If a tube similar to the tube 16 is used for subdivision into sealed samples this may be folded back on itself several times and also retained in the apertures 17, 17<SP>1</SP>.
