Abstract

1,171,505. Biological test patches. G. S. FREGERT. 3 July, 1967 [11 Aug., 1966], No. 30594/67. Heading A5R. A test patch for application to the skin for identifying allergic contact eczemas comprises a liquid absorbing test piece 6, re.g. blotting or filter paper on a liquid and gas impermeable carrier sheet (1). The carrier sheet comprises aluminium foil covered on both sides with plastic foil 3, 4 through which the test piece 6 and a paper foil 5 are heat sealed to opposite sides respectively of the aluminium foil. The test patch is secured to the skin by adhesive plaster (not shown). Several test patches may be arranged as a strip, rectangular apertures (10) in the carrier sheet separating individual test patches which may be severed from one another. Alternatively the carrier sheet comprises resinous material which may be a laminate of two or more materials e.g. water impermeable polyethylene and gas, impermeable polycarbonate.
