Abstract
Light concrete mixes contain a foamed slag in which more than 85% of the pores are closed. A suitable slag is composed of about 90% calcium metasilicate, 3% aluminium oxide, 6% calcium fluoride and 1% magnesium and alkali metal oxides; the principal constituent of this slag is chemically identical with wollastonite. The examples describe concrete mixes containing the foamed slag, quartz sand and cement. Specification 867,061 is referred to.
