Abstract
908,576. Endless blackboards. WILSON & GARDEN Ltd. Nov. 24, 1960, No. 40420/60. Class 146 (2). [Also in Group XXV] Relates to connecting members for a board for educational purposes of the type comprising an endless band constituted by flexible sheets 7 of blackboard surface or other material which are connected in series by connecting members and are entrained over top and bottom rollers carried by a frame. According to the invention the connecting member comprises a bar 1 of skeleton trapezoidal section, the narrower of the two parallel sides 2 being formed with a longitudinal slot 3 extending from end to end of the bar and two blades 5, 5 each substantially of the same length as the bar and intended to be mounted in and projecting through the slot, one longitudinal edge portion of each blade being formed with a channel recess for reception of an end portion of a flexible sheet, so that the blades connect sheets in series, and the opposed longitudinal edge portion of each blade being formed with a bead 8 intended to be located within the bar such that disengagement of the bar from the blades may be effected only by relative movement of the bar and the blades in the longitudinal direction. As shown, the bar and blades are retained in assembled position by a removable end plug 9 and the bar serves as a hand grip for the sheets 7, 7.
