Abstract

779,352. Model railway vehicles. PRITCHARD, S. C. May 16, 1955 [Feb. 16, 1954], No. 4524/54. Class 132(3). A model railway vehicle has a body with rigid sides and ends whose external surface is covered with one or more pieces of suitably printed and embossed paper or thin card. A model goods wagon comprises a die-cast metal floor portion 1 having vertical edges 2, 3 with horizontally extending spaced projections 4. The side and end members 6 and 7 of the vehicle body, which may be thin plywood, have tongues 8 along their lower edges to fit into the spaces 5 between projections 4. Members 6 and 7 have interfitting tongues and notches 9 on their vertical edges. Printed and embossed sides and ends are cut from a sheet 12 and secured to the assembled body. Strips of card may be placed under the embossed parts to prevent their being flattened or the pieces of card may overlap. Specifications 164,227 [Class 118(ii)], 738,525 and 756,490 are referred to.
