[Also in Group XXV] A lever 3 for controlling the thermostat of an electric flat iron has a boss 4 rotatably mounted in a circular aperture 2 in a part 1 of the handle of the iron, the boss being maintained centred by means of a plate-like spring 5 which is held in a stressed position with one end bearing upon the lever. The spring, which is initially flat, is held deformed by means of a pair of lugs 6, 7 engaging a slot 8 in the part 1 and a transverse bar 11 which rests in a groove 15.
