Abstract

907,546. Drawing. SCHWERMASCHINENBAU H. RAU. WILDAU. Aug. 16, 1960, No. 28421/60. Class 83 (4). A push pointing machine for tubes comprises means for forcing the tube to be push pointed into a push pointing member and means for removing the tube from the said member after push pointing, at least one tube support being provided which comprises two divided jaws with tube supporting surfaces facing one another, the jaws being laterally mutually adjustable so as to accommodate different diameter tubes. The machine comprises a frame 1 which accommodates the adjustable tube supports 3 and an hydraulic ram 6 for engaging one end of the tube 2. The ram is adjustable in the frame by means of a tie-beam 7 and a hand wheel 24. A pointing die 9 is mounted in the frame opposite to the ram 6 and a limit switch 10 engages the end of the pointed tube as it emerges from the die. The switch operates an hydraulic ejector plunger 12 which returns the tube to its initial position whereupon the ram 6 actuates a limit switch 10<SP>1</SP> which terminates the return movements, reverses the movements of the die ejector plunger and ejects the pointed tube on to a discharge mechanism 23 by actuating an hydraulically operated lever 20, Fig. 2. The pointed tube is ejected into a magazine (not shown).
