Abstract

907,089. Compacting soil. ABG.-WERKE G.m.b.H. Feb. 11, 1960 [Feb. 13, 1959], No. 4952/60. Class 68 (1). A vibrating-plate soil compactor is rendered transportable by attaching, at each side, a half-bogie with lever means for raising the compactor from the ground, as shown in Fig. 1. The vibrator plate 1 has bolt-holes 7 for the attachment, on each side, of a beam 6 having a pin 5 on which a doublearmed lever 4 is journalled, the stub axle 3 of the halfbogie wheel 2 being carried by the lever 4. The attachment of the beam 6 to the plate 1 is effected when the lever 4 is positioned to swing the wheels 4 to their uppermost positions, the lever 4 then being forced around its pivot 5 by an extension fitting on one or other of forked ends 4<SP>11</SP>, to raise first one side and then the other of the vibrating plate 1 from the ground, the weight being taken in intermediate and final positions by a pin which is passed through one of the holes 10, 12, 13 in a stationary bracket 11 and through a hole in the lever 4. The draw-bar or centre pole 8 has a sleeve socket so that it may be passed over the ends 4<SP>11</SP> for use as a lever.
