In a pipe-profiling machine as claimed in the parent Specification, the movement imparted to a tracer 23 by a template 19, Fig. 3, is transmitted to at least one of the pipe cutters through an adjustable lever system 16 whereby the ratio of the tracer movement to the cutter movement may be varied. The pipe P to be cut is clamped by radial or hinged supports 11, Fig. 2, within a clamp ring 8 supported on rollers 1a and having external teeth meshing with a pinion 9 driven by a handle 10 for rotating the pipe. The handle 10 also drives a vertical shaft 21 carrying a turn-table 18 for a flat template 19, Fig. 3, which is held down by a clamping disc 20, Fig. 2. The template is engaged by two roller followers 23, Fig. 3, carried by two levers 16 biased by a spring 29 and pivoted on adjustable blocks 24 carried by an adjustable cross member 25. The free ends of levers 16 are engaged by rods 15 movable parallel to the pipe axis and each having a hinged carrier arm 14 for an oxygen gas-cutting torch 13 whereby the latter may be swung into or out of its operative position. The torches may be set to cut on the bevel. Blocks 24 are adjustable together or apart by handles 26 and member 25 is adjustable towards or away from the template by a handle 28 according to a calibrated scale whereby the effective movement to the torches imparted by the template may be varied to suit pipes of different diameters. The two lever systems may be adjustable independently or each system may be controlled by a separate template. The apparatus is mounted on a telescopic base 2 with running wheels 5 and a steering wheel 6. One or more adjustable supports 12 for the pipe P are provided. A tubular side member 3 contains the oxygen bottle and a component drawer 31.
