905,618. Mounting electrical equipment. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 25, 1959 [June 9, 1958], No. 18399/58. Class 37. A mounting arrangement for electrical equipment comprises a pair of parallel supports maintained in spaced relation by transverse end members, means for locating sub-units edgeon to each other between the supports, interconnection terminals carried by at least one support, and access terminals connected to the interconnection terminals. A frame 1 comprises three support-members 2a, 2b, 2c secured to a first transverse member 3a on which is mounted a handle 4, and to a second transverse member 3b carrying terminals 5 which engage with other terminals when the frame is inserted into an equipment rack. A number of component boards 6, which may carry printed circuits are secured to the support-members by means of blocks 8 and clamping strips 9, 10. The blocks 8 and strips 9 are provided with recesses to accommodate the edges of the board, those in the blocks 8 being tapered to facilitate insertion of the boards. An insulated board 11 (Fig. 2) carried on the member 2c has a number of terminal pins 11a inserted into it, to which are soldered wires 15 to connect them to terminals 14 on the boards. Inter-connections between boards and connections to the terminals 5 may then be made by jumper wires connected to the pins 11 on the underside of the support 2c. Specification 887,101 is referred to.
