In an arrangement, Fig. 1, for mounting circuit boards 39 ... 42 carrying printed wiring and Components (not shown), the boards are slidingly received in grooves 36, 37 in tagblocks 25 ... 30 which are screwed between rail members 12, 13 extending between end members 10, 11; the boards are also slidingly received between projections 43, 44 on the facing surfaces of rail members 14, 15. Each tag-block comprises a series of U-shaped terminals, Fig. 1A, each having a long arm 31, to which a terminal on the circuit board is connected by gun-wrapping, and a short arm 32 to which internal wiring is soldered. The boards are held in position by a metal retaining strip 51 lined with a resilient plastics strip 53. When the assembly is inserted into a main rack (not shown), multiple-socket connectors 20, 21 in rear end member 11 engage plug members on the rack; end member 11 has locating and coding devices (not shown) to ensure that the sockets are correctly aligned, and that the assembly can be fully inserted only in the correct rack space. Two insulating blocks 47, 49 extending between rail members 13, 15 carry sets of contacts 46, 48 and surge-limiting resistors, not shown, are soldered between corresponding contacts of the two sets; when the assembly is inserted in the rack, power terminals on the rack make contact first with set 46, then with set 48. In an alternative arrangement, a single insulating block has two rows of contact studs, the surge-limiting resistors being connected between corresponding studs. Front end member 10 has one handle 19, or two handles and a spring-loaded catch for securing the assembly in the rack, and multiplesocket connectors 17, 18 for testing probes &c. Members 10 ... 15 are preferably of aluminium alloy.
