Abstract

A mounting arrangement for printed electric circuits or an electric circuit board includes a terminal block provided with co-operating terminal members for connection with the terminal members of the printed electric circuit or electric circuit board, and members which receive and hold in position the cards and guideways for carrying interconnecting wires from one terminal block to another. The terminal blocks 7 are made up of a terminal moulding 8 and two spacers 9, 10; the moulding 8 having three arms 11, 12, 13 defining a guideway 14 for the cards 1 provided with holes 2, 3 and terminal members 4. The arm 11 is provided with a number of horizontal channels 15 and associated apertures 16, the latter corresponding to holes 2, 3 in the card 1. The arms 19, 18 of co-operating terminal members 17, Fig. 7, fit into the apertures 16 and channels 15 respectively, the latter being of large enough cross-section to also include terminal member 4. The two terminal members lie substantially parallel to and in contact with one another and electrical connection is completed by a wrapped connection. Guideways for carrying interconnecting wiring between cards are provided by a number of apertures 24 including slots 25 in the arms 12, Fig. 3, and a number of rectangular channels 26 in the upper surface of the arm which pass at right-angles to the general plane of the cards. Thus wires soldered to the arms 21 of co-operating terminal member 17 may be brought up into a horizontal plane generally defined by the channels 26 and by means of the latter can be carried to the appropriate card. The assembly is held together by four tie bolts 28 which pass through four apertures in the terminal mouldings and spacers, the apertures being provided with metal bushes. The arm 11 has upper and lower projecting parts 31, 32 such that when two card row assemblies are placed in a rack one above the other the projection 32 of the upper assembly overlaps projection 31 of the lower assembly. Each of the projecting parts 31, 32 is provided with apertures 33, carrying terminal members 35, and channels 34 so that abutting terminals can be wrapped together as before. End plates 29, Fig. 4, are also provided with end terminal blocks 36, apertures 39, channels 40 and co-operating terminal members 41, similar to those in arm 11, for connection to terminal members 43 of two end cards 42. A connection may then be made from the rearwardly projecting end of the relevant terminal member 43 to a horizontal terminal board (not shown), one of which is attached to the frame of the rack above and below each pair of end cards 42, more terminal boards being provided at the ends of the rack.
