A suspension joint between a roof bar 3 of a mine roof support and a telescopic prop 13 comprises an inverted socket 4, 5, 6, 7 in the roof bar having a closed upper end 5 and an inturned lower lip 8, the head 15 of the prop except for a flange 16 thereon having substantial radial clearance with the socket to provide greater freedom of tilting movement when the prop is suspended by the lip than when it is extended into engagement with the closed end 5.
