Abstract

904,650. Heat-insulated containers. INSULEX Ltd. Dec. 21, 1960 [Feb. 17, 1960], No. 5619/60. Class 64 (2). A heat-insulated container comprises two rigid nested bowls, an inner bowl 6 and an outer bowl 1 made from two parts 2 and 3; between the two nested bowls is a space 8 filled with silica aerogel powder ground to a particular size which enables it to flow easily and have no tendency to compact. The lid 9 and the bowls 1 and 6 are made from either polystyrene or polyethylene. The handle 11 of the lid 9 is a hollow synthetic plastic ball which fits resiliently over projection 10.
