904,363. Velocity-modulated tubes. ENGLISH ELECTRIC VALVE CO. Ltd. Dec. 11, 1958 [April 30, 1958], No. 13784/58. Class 39 (1). [Also in Group XL (c)] A Klystron oscillator device comprises controllable voltage means applied to the terminals M connected to the buncher Bl and catcher Cl for controlling the fraction of the electron beam permitted to pass from buncher to catcher. Radio-frequency energy is taken off from the catcher Cl at E and a collector electrode is provided at D. An insulator X is provided between the exit tube B3 of the buncher and the entry tube C2 of the catcher. Modulating or keying pulses, normally rectangular in shape, are applied at terminals M.
