Abstract
904,273. Step-by-step conveyers. UDYLITE RESEARCH CORPORATION. July 25, 1960, No. 25864/60. Class 78 (1). Article carriers 36 are traversed through a succession of treatment tanks 14 by a conveyer comprising stationary rails 38, rail sections 40 mounted on a vertically-movable chassis 16, delayed immersion rail section 42 adapted to be lowered independently of the chassis 16, main reciprocating dogs 51, 52a mounted on chassis 16 and arranged to move the carriers step-bystep along rails 38 and on to section 40 when it is lowered, and an auxiliary reciprocating dog 52b which transfers carriers from section 40 to section 42 when these sections are in their upper position and which is retractable to a position clear of section 42. Dog 52b is carried by the piston-rod 104 of a thrustor 96 supported through brackets 98 and slidable bearing 110, 112 on one of the bars 48 which carry dogs 51, 52a. Bars 48, 48a (Fig. 3) are reciprocated by connecting-rods 64, 86 connected to cranks 78, 82 secured to a shaft 66 which is oscillated by a thrustor 58 and crank 70, and members 92 secured to cranks 78, 82 transfer the carriers around the curved end portions of rails 38.
