Abstract

903,474. Optical projection apparatus. AGFA A.G. Dec. 23, 1958 [Jan. 11, 1958], No. 41588/58. Class 97 (1). An optical projector is provided with main optical means for projecting a transparency as a whole and additional optical converging means for use together with said main optical means to produce a magnified image of a portion only of the transparency, the additional optical converging means being mounted for movement transversely of the projection light beam so that the transparency can be explored for the portion to be magnified and this portion alone projected with the exclusion of the rest of the transparency. As shown, between the transparency 9 and the main projector objective 11 there is arranged in a recess 15 a removable carrier 16 for an additional converging lens 17. The lens 17 and surrounding non-transparent mask 18 are vertically movable by a rack-andpinion 23, 22 in a frame 19 horizontally slidable in the carrier 16 under control of a slidablymounted spindle 21 secured to the pinion 22. An auxiliary lens, not shown, may also be introduced between the light source 3 and the transparency to increase the illumination of the chosen part of the image and may be adjusted in position by the adjusting means for the lens 17, the two lenses being arranged on a common fork-shaped carrier.
