Abstract

788,270. Projection microscopes. REICHERT OPTISCHE WERKE AKT.-GES., C. Jan. 24, 1956 [Jan. 26, 1955], No. 2267/56. Classes 97(1) and 98(1) The screen is mounted preferably in an inclined position, low down on the operator's side of the instrument while the stage is horizontal, or substantially horizontal, low down on the opposite side. The objective may be above or below the stage. In the form shown light from the source 3 is reflected from a mirror 4 through a slide 9 on the stage 1 and is subsequently reflected from a mirror 12 through the projection lens 10 which images the intermediate image formed by the microscope objective 6 on to the screen 2. The mirror 12 is pivoted about an axis 15 to permit the intermediate image to be viewed by the eyepiece 17. The screen may be vibrated in its own plane to remove the granular appearance and may be rotatable or removable for replacement by a holder for photographic material.
