Abstract

A fungicidal composition comprises a metal-containing fungicidal compound, dispersed in a heavy oil, preferably one having a flash point of at least 250 DEG C., and preferably a refined petroleum oil containing at least 90% by weight of unsulphonatable residues and having a distilling range beginning at at least 450 DEG F., containing an emulsifying agent, a major proportion of the compound being present in the form of particles having a maximum size of a few microns, preferably not more than 3 microns, and the compound being sufficiently insoluble in the liquid phase to be free from substantial crystalline growth therein. The metal containing fungicidal compound may be copper oxychloride, mercurized copper oxychloride or zinc ethylene-bis-dithiocarbamate. Anti-caking agents, e.g. a colloidal clay and surface-active agents to assist dispersion of the particles in the oil or the preparation in water may be included.
