Abstract
A pesticidal composition suitable for use in the preservation of cellulosic material comprising an aqueous dispersion of a heavy metal (i.e. copper, zinc, nickel, cadmium or lead) pentachlorophenolate in a colloidal water-soluble form, said dispersion containing a surface-active agent which does not form complexes or sparingly soluble compounds with said heavy metal. Anion active substances containing an aliphatic hydrocarbon residue, e.g. sodium alkyl sulphonates or sodium alkyl sulphates, are specified.
