Abstract

Pigment compositions of improved fastness contain a thiachromonoacridone intimately incorporated with a basic nickel, cobalt, copper or manganese compound, and are prepared by adding an acid-binding agent such as NaOH, KOH, Na2CO3, K2CO3, NaCOOCH3 or sodium borate, to an aqueous suspension of a thiachromonoacridone containing a soluble nickel, cobalt, copper or manganese salt and preferably at 100 DEG C., and separating the pigment composition from the aqueous medium.
