Abstract

1286273 Combatting arthropod ectoparasites AFRICAN EXPLOSIVES & CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 10 Sept 1969 [11 Sept 1968] 44783/69 Heading A5E A method for the control of arthropod ectoparasites of a mammal other than man comprises the application to the mammal of an effective amount of an aqueous pesticidal emulsion prepared by the emulsification in water of a self-emulsifiable, substantially solventfree, (as defined), non aqueous, pesticidal composition comprising at least one liquid pesticide suitable for controlling the ectoparasites and an emulsifier, which composition has a total pesticide content of from 65-95% by weight of the composition. A solid pesticide may also be present. The pesticides are suitably organo-phosphorus pesticides and may be stabilised, e.g. by propylene oxide, epichlorhydrin or an alkanolamine such as triethanolamine. Containers containing the composition with instructions for use are also claimed.
