Abstract

PURPOSE: A fungicide for industrial purpose that contains a 2-mercaptopyridine- N-oxide and 1,2-bnezisothiazolin-3-one as active ingredients, thus showing synergetically increased and continuous fungicidal effect in a smaller amount than when each of them is used alone.
CONSTITUTION: 2-Mercaptopyridine-N-oxide or its metal salt such as an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or zinc salt and 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one are mixed at a weight ratio of 32/1W1/128, preferably 1/1W1/4 (when a strong synergism develops). The mixture is used at a concentration of several ppm to prohibit the growth of fungi satisfactorily and added to a water system such as waste ditches in factories and subground water system. The mixture is expected to be effective in almost all fungicidal purposes in industry.
EFFECT: The amount of the chemical is largely reduced and so its cost is decreased, thus producing practically great merits.
