Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a rust preventing agent compsn. having a specified compsn. consisting of a reaction product of specified substances and oxide or hydroxide of a 1W3 valence metal out of the IWVIII group elements which compsn. is safe for the health and prevents flash rusting of water paint.
CONSTITUTION: This rust preventing compsn. consists of 50W80wt% of a reaction product of polyoxyethylene alkyl phenyl ether phosphate and the ethylene oxide adduct of methylenebisdicyclohexylamine and 50W20wt% of oxide or hydroxide of a 1W3 valence metal out of the IWVIII group elements in the periodic table, e.g. Na or Mg. This compsn. is safe for the health compared to a conventional rust preventing agent, and it shows superior effects on flash rusting resistance, stability on standing and defoamability when added to water paint. In addn., it has superior low and high temp. stability.
