Abstract

1282746 Compositions comprising dichlorvos SHELL INTERNATIONALE RESEARCH MAATSCHAPPIJ NV 5 Dec 1969 59508/69 Heading A5E A pesticidal composition comprises (i) dimethyl-2, 2-dichlorovinyl phosphate and (ii) a stabilizer which is a C 10 -C 25 alkylamine, a C 10 -C 25 amide, a phenyl-substituted hydrazine, an ethyl chloride/formaldehyde/ammonia reaction product or 6-ethoxy-1, 2-dihydro-2, 2, 4- trimethylquinoline. Preferred stabilizers are stearylamine and stearylamide and, if desired, a mixture of stearylamine and resorcinol may be employed. The composition may be used or any suitable solid carrier material, such as a thermoplastic material or a silica compound. Other ingredients may also be added such as fillers, softeners, dyes, pigments and antioxidants. In the examples, the preparation of polyvinyl chloride or polyethylene compositions containing the pesticidal compositions of the invention is described. The compositions are especially suitable for being used in animal collars. For this purpose the compositions are moulded, extruded or cast to the suitable animal-collar shape, e.g. a strip with fastening assembly.
