Abstract

903,173. Filters. PUROLATOR PRODUCTS (CANADA) Ltd. April 5, 1960 [Feb. 22, 1960], No. 11936/60. Class 46. Liquid fuel flows from the right into tapering spaces 29, 30, 31 formed between pairs of frusto-conical filtering elements 15-14, 13-12 and 11-10 respectively, the elements being held in stepped relationship by a bail 23. The elements are held in concentric relationship at the inlet end by the bail 23 and by rings 17 and 18, and at the discharge end by a diametral brace 22 and rings 19, 20 and 21. The inlet end of element 10 is closed by a cap 16. The unit fits within the discharge nozzle (not shown) of a liquid-fuel-distributing installation and an 0-ring seal 27 engages the inner peripheral wall of the nozzle. Most of the area of each element is kept clean by the flow of liquid along it, the solids collecting in the pockets formed at the discharge end of the unit.
