Abstract
902,060. Floors; ceilings; beams; posts. LAZZI, F. Feb. 9, 1961 [Aug. 8, 1960], No. 4811/61. Classes 20 [1] and 20 (4). A floor or ceiling comprises prefabricated V- section concrete beams arranged side-by-side, each beam having flanges extending along its free edges so that adjacent flanges of two beams lie in the angle defined by the adjacent sides of the beams, clamping means being provided to hold the flanges together. In Fig. 11, the floor beams 12 have depending flanges 12a clamped together by channel members 14 secured by bolts 16 or by tie rods 17 connecting the floor to pilasters 21. Floor slabs 13 with rabbeted edges are supported by the beams which in turn are supported by masonry walls or by pilasters as shown consisting of two truncated hollow pyramids of asymmetrical form, the truncated ends 4 being secured together by tie rods 6. The beams consisting of three sections A, B, C, Fig. 6, connected together at their flanged ends 9, 10 taper both in width and depth, the part of maximum cross-section being near one end of the beam and supported by pilasters. The short length of beam beyond the pilasters consists of tapered multiple V-section ribs 12b converging towards the lowermost point of the beam, and may project to form a balcony terrace &c. The beams may all taper in the same direction to form a sector-shaped floor, or alternate beams may taper in opposite directions. In a ceiling, Fig. 17, the beams 26 are inverted with their flanges 26a directed upwardly and connected by channel members 29. Each channel member has two extensions 29b of different heights ending in V-shaped recesses for supporting overlapping portions of the roof. The roof consists of inverted V-section beams 30 with their free edges supported in troughs 31 resting on the extensions 29b. The beams 12, 26 and 30 are made of mesh-reinforced concrete. Specification 897,476 is referred to.
