The rotatable drive-shaft 1 of a washing-machine is sealed where it extends through a non-rotatable guide bush 2 by a sealing-ring fixed to the shaft and having a sealing lip 9 urged by a garter-spring 8 into contact with the outer surface of the bush 2. The sealing-ring has a holding portion 6 vulcanized to a metal casing 5 having a square opening engaging a squared portion 4 of the shaft.
