Abstract

899,506. Valves. PNEUMELEC S.A. Sept. 19, 1960 [July 8, 1960], No. 32148/60. Class 135. In a main valve 20, 21, Fig. 3, controlled by a pilot valve 24, Fig. 2, the pilot valve body B is secured to the main valve body A by a hollow pivot shank 5 acting as a fluid duct and a bayonet joint 8, 9. Energization of solenoid 28 shifts piston valve 24 to the right whereby supply pressure at 15 trapped in passages 18, 29, 7 and 31 closes shuttle valve 20 and opens valve 21 on connected piston 22 since pressure behind the piston is exhausted via 32, 11, and pilot valve passages 33, 34, 35. A jack V is thereby exhausted through passages 14, 17, 16. On de-energizing solenoid 28 and energizing solenoid 27, pilot valve 24 is shifted to the left whereby passages 32, 11 are cut off from exhaust 35 and connected via passages 31, 7, 29, 15 to supply pressure which, acting behind piston 22 to shift it leftwards, closes exhaust valve 21 and opens valve 20 so that supply pressure passes via 17, 14 to the jack V. By turning the pilot body B about its pivot shank 5 to unlock the bayonet joint, the pilot valve may be removed and replaced by one of a different type, e.g. a single solenoid actuating shuttle lift valves (Fig. 6, not shown). The face P-P separating the bodies is sealed by concentric rings 12, 13 between which passes passage 11.
