Abstract

899,096. Transistor oscillator mixer circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Aug. 20, 1959 [Aug. 21, 1958], No. 28503/59. Class 40(6). An oscillator-mixer circuit comprises a mixer transistor connected in series with an oscillator transistor across a D.C. supply with the common point of the transistors connected through a circuit having a low impedance at signal frequencies to one terminal of the supply the input signal and the output terminal of the oscillator being connected to an input terminal of the mixer. In the Figure a crystal oscillator transistor circuit 24 is connected in series with a transistor mixer 20 and an IF tuned circuit 18 feeding the IF amplifier 17, the common point 34 being earthed through a capacitor 32. A sgnal from the input and RF stages 12 of a radio receiver is applied through a capacitor to the base of the mixer transistor 20 together with a local oscillation derived through a capacitor 38 from the emitter of the oscillator transistor.
