Class 132(2) [Also in Group XXIX] A valve, adapted to be fitted on or formed integral with inflatable articles, such as beach balls, balloons or pneumatic mattresses, comprises an elastic valve body, secured to or formed integrally with the wall 2 of the article, having a tubular portion 1 extending into the article. A shank 4 fits in the tubular portion 1 and has a head 5 which fits into a correspondingly shaped cavity in the valve body. The construction of the tubular portion around the shank 4 closes an opening in the article, while fluid pressure applied to an orifice 6 flows through a diametral or radial slit 7 in the head 5 into the upper part of the tubular portion causing it to expand and allow the fluid to flow into the article.
