An inflation valve comprises a valve body 1 of flexible resilient material adapted to be secured to the article to be inflated and a hollow valve spindle 3 longer than the valve body and slidable from a position for filling the article to a sealing position. In the latter position, a port 7 lies within a bore 2 and fluid pressure acts on a flange 4 to seat it more firmly against the body. In a modification, a tubular extension, which may have a port to register with the port 7, is formed integrally with the inner part of the body and the spindle is pushed inwardly to the sealing position. Several ports 7 may be provided.
