Abstract

898,132. Valves. ROTORK ENGINEERING CO. Ltd. June 29, 1960 [Aug. 5, 1959], No. 26793/59. Class 135. [Also in Group XXXVI] A power - operated valve actuator comprises electrical power means 10 for actuating an output shaft connected to the valve, the actuator having a control box 14 for the electrical control and other switches, and a terminal box 15 attached to the control box and communicating therewith through a flame-proof barrier unit 16. The electrical power means 10 is a reversing electric motor which is coupled to a worm-driven shaft connected to the valve closure member, the latter arrangement being more fully described in Speci- fication 842,581. The switch control box 14 is separated from the terminal box 15 by a wall 20, the latter having holes 30 therein for housing bushes 35 in which contact terminal stems 39 (see Group XXXVI) are secured. The valve is also provided with a manually-operable hand wheel 13 and a pointer 29 connected to the closure member for indicating the position of the latter. A drain device is provided for the control box. Specifications 865,565 and 898,131 also are referred to.
