Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a tap changer of a low friction loss by equipping it with a mechanism for converting the pivoting motion of the output shaft of an energy charging mechanism into a radial, reciprocating, rectilinear motion on a plane perpendicular to the shaft, and a pivoting lever for converting the rectilinear motion into a vertical, retilinear motion parallel to the shaft. CONSTITUTION:An output shaft 1 of an energy charging mechanism, which has a vertical axial center and is capable of pivoting, either clockwise or counterclockwise at one tap change-over, is equipped with a mechanism 2 for converting the pivoting motion into a radial, reciprocating, rectilinear motion on a plane perpendicular to the axial center. Two vacuum switches A and B having movable electrodes 10A and 10B respectively are arranged so as to be opposed to the output shaft 1. Connectors 11A and 11B of the electrodes 10A and 10B are connected and disconnected by using a pivoting lever 20 located between the switches anc the mechanism 2. The lever 20, which has an elastic body 23 which contacts with the mechanism 2, arm 21 and so on, makes and breaks the switches A and B in response to the operation of the mechanism 2.
