Abstract

A resilient electric contact has a contact face 9 formed on a first contact member 6 or on an auxiliary member rigidly fixed to it. The contact member 6 has a further face 11 which is oblique to an axis normal to the contact face. A second contact member 7 bears on the oblique face 11 and makes electrical contact with it. The contact members 7, 8 are supported in a manner allowing limited relative sliding movement along the oblique face 11 and are biassed, as by compression springs 16 or C-springs, in the direction tending to move the contact face forwards. <IMAGE>
