Abstract

A moulded moving contact arm assembly, of insulating material, in an electric circuit breaker, comprises a base 12 and a cover 23 defining a recess 32 across which extends a pivot pin 22 of contact arm 11. A spring 33 loads the arm 11 towards a fixed contact (not shown). On blow back the arm 11 may pass through a dead centre position, so that the spring 33 then loads the arm 11 towards a stable inoperative position. As the contacts deteriorate the point of action of the spring 33, moves laterally thereby compensating for such deterioration by increasing the contact pressure. A plurality of the assemblies, as indicated at A, B and C can be connected together, using bolts or rivets 54, 55, and partition-sealing discs 148, 248. <IMAGE>
